Shastafari

I am from a small Alpine community in Northern California, which is sort of a refuge from the rest of the world, at least for me it is. Mt Shasta is a small town tucked away in the cascade mountain range of the Great North West, which is easy to miss as a small blip off the I-5. It is blessed with snow in the winter where the denizens can be spotted glissading down the snow blanketed mountains, and through hibernating pines frozen in there winter tomb. In the summer, if the inhabitants aren't found traversing the peaks of the mountain they will certainly be soaking up the suns blessed rays as lizards do on smooth worn thrones made from stone. I have the blessing to vacation in my own hometown for a few odd weeks before I am off on a grand adventure in B.C. So far I have done a fair share of hiking and a bit off rock climbing to boot.

Amazing assimilation

As of late I have been going on music binges and I love it, I might be slightly addicted but I don't care. My music Binge will benefit you, at least in my opinion. So this track has been recently released. It's Walkabout by Atlas sound featuring Animal Collectives Panda bear, or Noah Lennox. If you are not familiar with Atlas sound it is Bradford Cox's(lead singer of Deerhunter) solo project. The track is the latest release to the album Logos which is said to be released later this year in October. This could not be a better combination, with Panda Bear and Atlas on the same track it leads to pure music euphoria! I was a bit worried about the two unique musicians styles clashing but they flow rythmicaly in sync and put the listener out of the world and into a walkabout. Throw it in your speakers and see what ya think!

Peace

Well i was cursing the you tube listening to some great songs from The Go! team and stumbled across this great clip. A 14 year old boy sneaked into Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. John Lennon shares his views on peace and how to achieve it. It's pretty inspirational give it a whirl.

Last few days

So I have 3 more days including today till I am finished with my sophomore year in college. I am excited to see my family in a few days and actually live in a house again. I have been bumming around for the last 6 weeks, sleeping in my tent and on peoples floors in an effort to save my money for the BYU Jerusalem Program. I will be headed to Tel aviv Israel in 6 weeks, in between i have trips arranged for white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking and camping. So it should be a good holiday, I am starting to get a bit restless, even though I still get to play a lot here I am ecstatic about being care free for the next few weeks. All though I have a somewhat long list of books I would like to read as well. I am going to read catcher and the rye, three cups of tea, into the wild, the perks of being a wall flower, and john muir's Biography. We shall see how far I get on those.
